Creating a work environment that reflects your brand takes planning and forethought.
These days your branding is as much about who you are as it is about what you do. It’s about your corporate personality, ethics and values. It’s the ethos that motivates and inspires people to give of their best every work day. It has to infuse the entire office space with its creed. Branding is about a message reinforced by the visual aesthetic and functionality of your work environment.
Because it’s both an intangible and tangible element, you have many options available to help you create an aesthetic that supports your branding story.
Are you environmentally conscious? Nothing communicates that better than a living wall, or at least living plants throughout the office. Are you open and transparent in all your dealings? Architectural walls of clear glass, an office-wide line of sight and furniture that encourages spontaneous collaboration are all elements that immediately communicate that philosophy. Are you a hub of creativity, innovation and free thinking? Bright, dynamic furnishings in an open plan space featuring mobile, flexible furniture, help support the buzz. Are you a professional services firm that relies on a reputation for solid, prudent advice? Blues, greens and browns, which are the foundation of natures color scheme, underscore your enduring stability.
Take these conference rooms for example:
In the first conference room you see a very traditional, conservative aesthetic. The second is a little more adventurous, yet the colors and style display a respect for the traditional. Both of these styles speak to the stability which is required within financial or legal services. In contrast, the third conference room with its orange upholstery, chairs with casters and sleek glass table speak of mobility, innovation and progression. The fourth conference room has an equally interesting dynamic and an updated rustic aesthetic; dark walls contrasting with a lighter feature wall and light upholstery. This room introduces an element of residential-type comfort in a work environment that’s both relaxed and supportive of innovation. The fifth conference room, with its living wall, speaks to both an environmental consciousness as well as a desire to make the indoor work environment a tranquil and healthy space.
In these two private offices it’s easy to see how the altering of colors and finishes can completely change the the mood.
Each of these examples provides an immediate intuitive recognition of what the work environment is about. The type and arrangement of furniture and colors send a message about how people are expected to interact within these spaces. In the first two examples, the message is established by the bright, fun colors while in the third, the uniform brown brings an element of calm and tranquility conducive to quiet discussion or learning.
For those who prefer to choose their own upholstery fabric, there are options. There may be times when you prefer to enhance your brand with a fabric that’s not part of the furniture manufacturer’s range. This can be done by arrangement – please ask us for details.
Branding can also be reinforced in a more direct and tangible way by having your logo incorporated on your furniture, walls and floor coverings.
