Joan Waters encourages everyone to “Love what you do!”
Joan Waters, CEO of COFCO and transitioning owner, believes you have to be passionate about what you do. “If you’re not, go find something you are passionate about,” she advises.
Joan practices what she preaches, being passionate about her role at COFCO. Her goal is to take COFCO further. To fulfill to an even greater level David Einstein’s dream and to stay true to COFCO’s core value of ‘doing the right thing’.
When Joan arrived at COFCO in 1988, it was clear that she had found the company that was the perfect fit.
The authenticity that emanated throughout the team made her feel at home immediately. She brought with her invaluable industry experience, a high level of professionalism and a passion for a relationship‐centric approach to the business. Joan believes “at the core of what we do, is finding the right combination to get the right things done for our clients, every time.” And it is through Joan’s strong leadership that this is exactly what clients experience every time they work with COFCO.
Joan has been partnering with Alan Einstein, Chairman of the Board and David Einstein’s son, for over a decade, leading COFCO into a future where the way we work is changing more dramatically than at any time in the past.
If you were to assume that she is incredibly busy and productive, you’d be right. In addition to her ‘day job’ at COFCO, Joan is also a tireless advocate for a number or worthy causes:
– Founding Member and Board Member of AWE (Alliance of Women Entrepreneurs)
– Advisory Board Member for the School of Business Administration at Widener University
– Member of Impact100 Philadelphia (a philanthropic organization that funds initiatives in the Greater Philadelphia area)
– Member of the Basketball Program at Bryant University, Smithfield R.I. where she is an alumni and a staunch advocate for women’s athletics
