Aside from a makeover at ‘The Mart’, with rearranged floors, social areas and elevators, NeoCon 2016 was altogether a bigger, better, bolder foray into the future.
NeoCon 2016 is reported to have been one of the best attended of recent years.
While there was a definite buzz of excitement during all three days, overall there weren’t all that many great new ideas showcased, though there was plenty of tweaking and improvement. The approach to modern office design showed a greater blurring of the lines between what might be expected to be seen in an upscale apartment and an office. The way we work has changed, and so has office furniture design.
Comfort, wellness and flexibility is definitely a top priority. Collaborative areas interspersed with social hubs and the occasional ‘focused work’ spaces are easy to achieve with furniture that multi tasks.
Our major vendor Allsteel had some notable highlights included winning Silver in the Casegoods category for Approach, as well as several new product unveilings:
